The renowned journalist of his time, esteemed teacher, founder and former chairman of the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Karachi, and director of the Press Institute of Pakistan, Professor Zakaria Sajid, passed away early Thursday morning.
Professor Zakaria Sajid was 96 years old. He retired from the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Karachi on June 30, 1988, but continued teaching as an adjunct professor for many years afterward.
His funeral prayer will be held on Thursday, July 18, after the Zuhr prayer at Masjid Ibrahim, University of Karachi, and he will be buried in the university’s cemetery.
