A camel market, or 'mandi,' in Karachi, Pakistan on Friday Aug 9, 2019. Mandis are pop up animal markets where customers browse and purchase goats, sheep, cows, or camels for ritual slaughter for the Muslim celebration Eid al-Adha. Much of meat is often distributed to impoverished families.

Governor of Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori has announced the sacrifice of 100 camels at the Governor’s House for Eid-ul-Adha 2024. This significant charitable act was declared after a meeting with Maulana Abdul Khair Azad, the Central Chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

In their discussion, Governor Tessori and Maulana Azad emphasized the importance of scholars in promoting national unity and developing a welfare state. They also addressed broader social issues and agreed to organize an interfaith harmony conference in August at the Governor’s House, aiming to foster peace among different religious communities.

Later, Governor Tessori and Maulana Azad visited the IT Marquee, where they were warmly welcomed by enthusiastic students. The Governor highlighted his initiative to provide free IT courses, emphasizing his commitment to educational advancement in the region. Maulana Azad praised this initiative, noting its significance for Pakistan’s progress and prosperity and stressing the importance of collective efforts for national development.

Following the IT Marquee visit, the Governor and Maulana Azad inspected the ration distribution efforts under the Powerful Pakistan initiative. They also visited the symbolic Bell of Hope, reinforcing their commitment to supporting those in need and fostering a spirit of hope and unity.
