Karachi Heatwave Leads to Surge in Morgue Admissions: Edhi Foundation Reports

The recent heatwave in Karachi has significantly increased the pressure on the city’s morgues. Over the past three days, 300 bodies have been brought to three Edhi Foundation morgues in the city, according to Edhi Foundation head, Faisal Edhi, in an interview with Geo News. The Edhi Foundation operates morgues in Sohrab Goth, Korangi, and Mithadar.

Faisal Edhi revealed that in the last five days, 423 bodies have been brought in for bathing and shrouding, marking a significant increase compared to normal days. Most of the bodies were accompanied by relatives, with only a few being unidentified.
