Karachi is back under the grip of heat and humidity just days after enjoying a brief monsoon shower. But relief may be on the horizon once again, as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a new weather alert indicating more rainfall for Sindh — including the metropolitan city.
According to PMD spokesperson Anjum Nazeer, monsoon currents have started entering southeastern Sindh, boosting the chances of showers in districts like Tharparkar, Nagarparkar, and Mithi from July 2 to July 5.
For Karachiites, the skies will stay cloudy and muggy in the short term, with light rain or drizzles possible during this period. However, the real action may begin between July 8 and 11, when moderate rain showers are expected to soak the city as the monsoon system strengthens.
While the last wet spell briefly tamed the soaring mercury, Karachi’s weather has quickly rebounded with intense heat and humidity, prompting discomfort across the city.
Advisory: Citizens are urged to stay updated through official PMD bulletins, especially in areas vulnerable to urban flooding and traffic chaos.
