Immediate Removal of Cattle Market from Karachi Playground Ordered by Sindh High Court

The Sindh High Court has ordered the immediate removal of a cattle market from the playground in Block 19, FB Area, Karachi. The court directed the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to cancel the permit for the cattle market and instructed both the KMC and the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Central District to restore the playground to its original condition.

Additionally, the court ordered the contractor to refund the auction money within seven days. The Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court criticized the state of the playground, stating it had been ruined. The DC Central explained that the KMC had permitted the cattle market on the ground with mutual consultation and mentioned that residents had also requested to perform Eid prayers there. He added that the cattle market had already been dismantled.

However, the court noted that according to Nazir’s report, the cattle market was still present.
