Rescue officials reported that the bodies were found in multiple locations across Karachi, including Lyari, Golimar, Jahangir Road, Landhi Godam Chowrangi, and other areas. The heatwave, which saw temperatures climb to 41 degrees Celsius today, is believed to have been the primary cause of death for these individuals.
Three bodies were found in the KMC Ground in the Lashari neighborhood of Lyari. Other bodies were discovered in Golimar, Jahangir Road, Landhi Godam Chowrangi, Defense Phase 7, Orangi Town Sector 15, and Khameso Goth.
The Meteorological Department confirmed that Karachi experienced temperatures of 41 degrees Celsius today, underscoring the severity of the heatwave.
Rescue officials noted that drug addicts are particularly vulnerable during extreme weather conditions. Without proper shelter or access to hydration, they face increased risks during heatwaves.
