Karachi Imposes Ban on Disposal of Animal Offal During Eid ul-Adha to Ensure Cleanliness

To maintain cleanliness during Eid ul-Adha, Karachi authorities have imposed a ban on the disposal of animal offal and other waste from June 16 to June 20. An official notification has been issued to inform the public about the new regulations. This measure aims to ensure a hygienic environment during the religious festivities when animal sacrifices are a common practice.

The Karachi administration has enforced this ban under Section 144, which restricts certain activities to prevent public nuisances and health hazards. The authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against individuals who violate the ban by improperly disposing of animal remains in public spaces.

Eid ul-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, often leads to significant waste generation as millions of animals are sacrificed across the city. Improper disposal of offal can cause severe sanitation issues, attracting pests and creating unpleasant conditions in residential areas.

To facilitate proper waste management, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has announced plans to deploy additional cleaning crews and set up designated disposal points across the city. These efforts are intended to streamline the collection and disposal process, ensuring that offal is handled efficiently and hygienically.

Residents are urged to cooperate with the authorities by using the designated disposal points and avoiding littering. Public awareness campaigns are also being conducted to educate citizens on the importance of maintaining cleanliness during the festive period.

The city administration’s proactive approach highlights its commitment to public health and environmental protection. By enforcing this ban, Karachi aims to provide a cleaner, safer environment for all its residents during Eid ul-Adha. Compliance with these regulations is crucial for the well-being of the community and the overall aesthetics of the city.
