KARACHI – To ensure safety and smooth flow during the sacred Muharram processions, Karachi police have rolled out a comprehensive and city-wide traffic diversion plan for the 8th, 9th, and 10th of Muharram 1447 Hijri, falling on July 4, 5, and 6, 2025.
Key Highlights of the Plan:
MA Jinnah Road CLOSED from Guru Mandir to Tower – only stickered procession vehicles allowed.
Central Procession Route: Starts from Nishtar Park → Ends at Hussainia Iranian Imambargah.
Alternate Routes by District:
District Central:
Nazimabad → Lasbela → Garden → Nishtar Road
Liaquatabad → Teen Hatti → Lasbela or Martin Road
Hassan Square → Jail Flyover → Kashmir Road
District East:
Shahrah-e-Faisal → Society Signal → Kashmir Road
Central Jail → Bahadur Yar Jang Road → Soldier Bazaar
District South:
Garden Zoo → Uncle Saria → Gul Plaza → Coast Guard → Holy Family Hospital
Heavy/Commercial Traffic Rerouted
From Super Highway: Via Liaquatabad, Habib Bank Flyover, Sher Shah → Mauripur
From National Highway: Via Rashid Minhas, Stadium Road → Hassan Square → Mauripur
Sabeel/Tabarruk Vehicles:
Entry only from Tower or Memon Masjid. Strict NO PARKING along the route.
For Procession Participants:
From Nazimabad → Lasbela → Garden Jamaat Khana → Soldier Bazaar
From Liaquatabad → Teen Hatti → Jehangir Road → Guru Mandir
From Gulshan/Johar → University Road → Kashmir Road → Society Signal
