The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) announced on Sunday that Karachi will experience drizzle and light rain later today, following an earlier forecast of rising temperatures. The Met Office has predicted a new monsoon spell impacting Sindh, including Karachi, starting from July 18 or 19.
Although there was scattered rainfall in Karachi earlier in the week, residents have faced high temperatures in recent days. With a sea breeze blowing at 18 kilometers per hour, the city’s maximum temperature is expected to range between 34°C and 36°C. The minimum temperature recorded was 30.5°C.
While the PMD has ruled out the possibility of another heatwave, it warned that temperatures could rise to between 37°C and 38°C over the next two to three days.
This forecast is in line with weather expert Jawad Memon’s prediction that Karachi’s temperature could increase by up to 3°C starting Monday.
