Karachi’s Peoples Bus Service to Halt Operations on Select Routes During Muharram Processions

On Sunday, ARY News reported that the Peoples Bus Service will suspend operations on specific routes in Karachi during the 9th and 10th of Muharram. The only route that will remain operational is from Malir Halt to Super Highway.

In preparation for Muharram processions, Karachi’s traffic police issued a traffic management plan for the 8th, 9th, and 10th of Muharram.

On the 8th of Muharram, a procession will begin at Nishtar Park and conclude at Hussainian Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar. For security reasons, MA Jinnah Road will be closed from Gurumandir to Tower. The procession route includes Nishtar Park, Sir Shah Nawaz Bhutto Road, Mehfil-i-Shah-i-Khurasan, MA Jinnah Road, Mansfield Street, Preedy Street, Tibet Chowk, Baba-e-Urdu Road, Bara Imam Road, Nishtar Road, Altaf Hussain Road, Bolton Market, Nawaz Mahabat Khanjee Road, and Bombay Bazar, ending at Hussainian Iranian Imambargah.

On the 9th of Muharram, a procession will start from Martin Road Imambargah in Liaquatabad at 9 am, reaching Nishtar Park by 12 pm for a Majlis. Following the Majlis, the procession will proceed to Hussainian Iranian Imambargah via Sir Shah Nawaz Bhutto Road, Mehfil-i-Shah-i-Khurasan, MA Jinnah Road, Mansfield Street, Preedy Street, Tibet Chowk, Bolton Market, Bombay Bazar, Nawaz Mahabat Khanjee Road, and then to Hussainian Iranian Imambargah.
