Moon Sighting Karachi – Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Predicts Eid-ul-Azha on June 17

Anticipation is growing for the sighting of the Zilhaj moon, with an official from the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council predicting that the moon is likely to be visible on June 7.

Khalid Ijaz Mufti, the Secretary General of the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, forecasts that Eid-ul-Azha is expected to be celebrated on Monday, June 17. According to Mufti, the moon will be born on June 6 at 5:38 PM, and by sunset on June 7, it will be 25 hours old, making its visibility highly probable. The committee’s research indicates that if weather conditions are favorable, the moon for Eid-ul-Azha will be visible.

The official 2024 holiday calendar has designated Eid-ul-Azha holidays from June 17 to 19. Considering that most government offices are closed on Saturdays and Sundays, the holiday period will effectively begin on June 15.

However, if Eid-ul-Azha is confirmed for June 18, the federal government is expected to adjust the holiday schedule accordingly. A formal notification with the revised holidays will be issued in the days leading up to Eid-ul-Azha.
