Municipal Minister Expresses No Confidence in Sindh Solid Waste Plan for Karachi

Minister of Municipalities Sindh, Saeed Ghani, has expressed his lack of confidence in the Sindh Solid Waste Plan for Karachi ahead of Eid-ul-Adha. He emphasized the need for the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board to reassess its preparations and present a new plan within 24 hours for handling animal waste and setting up disposal sites across Sindh, including Karachi.

Ghani stressed that in districts where the Solid Waste Plan has not yet been implemented, the relevant commissioners, deputy commissioners, district administrations, and elected representatives should finalize plans in collaboration. He further stated that no compromises will be made in the timely collection of waste, including animal waste during the three days of Eid-ul-Adha and daily garbage disposal.

These remarks were made during a high-level meeting chaired by the Provincial Minister on Tuesday in the Sindh Secretariat Committee Room. The provincial minister expressed serious concern, emphasizing the need to devise a plan based on ground realities during Eid-ul-Adha.
