Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Mohammad Rizwan are unlikely to receive No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for the Global T20 Canada.
Sources indicate that despite the Canadian league not conflicting with any series, Pakistani players are unlikely to receive NOCs due to policy reasons. Players who participate in all formats will not be granted NOCs.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly against granting NOCs to players involved in all formats due to their busy international schedule. Recently, Naseem Shah also did not receive an NOC for The Hundred because he plays in all formats.
Additionally, sources reveal that the Global T20 Canada has yet to receive approval from the ICC. Several issues have led to the ICC withholding the league’s approval.
The final decision on NOCs for players will be made after the league is approved. It is worth noting that Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Nawaz, Asif Ali, and Iftikhar Ahmed also have contracts with the league.
