A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane collided with a water supply vehicle at Karachi airport, disrupting the additional flight PK-8300 scheduled from Karachi to Islamabad.
The ATR aircraft sustained damage when the water supply vehicle accidentally struck it on the tarmac. Fortunately, no passengers were harmed, as they were still in the lounge awaiting boarding.
As a result of the collision, authorities canceled the flight to Islamabad. The damaged aircraft was promptly sent to the engineering department for a thorough inspection and necessary repairs.
To minimize inconvenience, passengers scheduled on flight PK-8300 were reassigned to alternative flights. PIA officials are working to ensure all affected passengers are accommodated on other flights to Islamabad.
An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the collision and to prevent similar incidents in the future. Airport and airline authorities are collaborating to reinforce safety protocols and minimize operational disruptions.
