The SSC Part 2 exams complete the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and are taken at the end of 10th grade. Conducted by BSEK, these exams play a big role in deciding a student’s future education options. Exams are held in March, with results usually announced in July or August.
All students, regardless of their stream, are required to take four compulsory subjects: English, Urdu, Pakistan Studies, and Islamic Studies (or Ethics for non-Muslim students). For the Science group, students continue with their science subjects from Part 1, which include Physics, Chemistry, and either Biology or Computer Science. Mathematics remains an important subject for science students as well. The Arts/Humanities group offers various elective options such as Economics, Sociology, Computer Science, Geography, Education, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Students in this group typically choose three elective subjects along with their compulsory ones. Commerce students take Principles of Accounting, Business Studies, and Economics as their main subjects in addition to the compulsory ones. Some schools may offer additional commerce-related electives.
Students continue with their chosen stream from Part 1, with the same subject combinations. The Part 2 results are particularly important as they determine eligibility for college admissions in science, commerce or arts streams at the intermediate level.
Students can check their results online through the BSEK official website by entering their roll numbers. The grading system follows a standard division structure.
