The lone elephant of the Karachi Zoo, Madhubala, will be moving to Safari Park early next month.

The management of Karachi Zoo declared on Thursday that Madhubala, a 16-year-old elephant kept in isolation there, would be moving to Safari Park the following month.

After everything has been resolved, Madhubala will be moved to Safari Park to live with Sonia and Malika, two other elephants.

The administration of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) declared that Four Paws is working with them to construct a new sanctuary, and that training for Madhubala’s entrance and exit from the container has been finished.

The sanctuary, which is anticipated to be finished in 15 to 20 days, will give Madhubala a new place to live after she spent years experiencing dental pain and infection as a result of a fractured tusk.

Madhubala is one of four African elephants that Four Paws’ eight-person crew will be tending to in 2022. There will now be three elephants in Safari Park as a result of the relocation.

Remarkably, Four Paws became well-known worldwide in 2020 after moving Kaavan—often referred to as the world’s most lonely elephant—from Islamabad to Cambodia.
