Heatwave in Karachi Linked to Surge in Mysterious Deaths, Total Reaches 17

The number of unexplained deaths in Karachi has risen to 17 in a single day, with rescue services discovering seven more bodies from various parts of the city on Monday. Rescue officials reported that most of the deceased are believed to be drug addicts who succumbed to the severe heatwave currently affecting the city.

The victims, aged between 35 and 60 years, were found in multiple locations, including Jama Cloth Market, Golimar, Super Highway, Gulistan-e-Johar, Federal B Area, and Landhi. Additionally, a body showing signs of torture was discovered near Fatima Society in Surjani Town. The bodies were transported to local police stations before being sent to the morgue for further procedures. Identification efforts for the deceased are ongoing.

This follows the discovery of 10 bodies in various parts of Karachi on Sunday, also under mysterious circumstances. Those bodies were located in areas such as KMC Ground Lyari, Golimar, Jahangir Road, Landhi, Godam Chowrangi, Defense Phase 7, Orangi Town Sector 15, and Khamiso Goth. Police have launched an urgent investigation to determine the causes of death and to identify any potential connections between these incidents.
