Karachi experienced its hottest day of the year, with the mercury climbing to scorching heights and the temperature reaching a new high at 42 degrees Celsius in most areas of the city, according to ARY News on Monday.
The details state that the citizens of Karachi are advised to take precautionary measures as the city is going through a partial heatwave, which will continue for the next two days. On its part, Met Office said the mercury could soar to 43 Celsius today, adding that the weather will remain hot and humid in the city for three days.
Simultaneously, the locality of Gulistan-e-Johar turned out to be the hottest place in Karachi, experiencing a scorching 43.7 °C. The second hottest was an area around the airport, gaining 42.8 °C, and the third was Shahrah-e-Faisal, showing 40.5 °C, whereas, in Manipur, it recorded 40.2 °C of heat.
Overall, the average temperature in Karachi was recorded at a scorching 42.6 degrees Celsius, marking a significant heatwave in the city.
