Sindh High Court Summons Official Over Cattle Market Dispute in Karachi

The Sindh High Court has summoned Senior Director Veterinary Rustam Khan over the dispute regarding the establishment of a cattle market in the FB Area. The hearing took place in the Sindh High Court on Tuesday regarding the dispute over setting up a cattle market in the FB Area. The applicant informed that although Commissioner Karachi legally allocated Block 19 in FB Area for the market, it has not been seized yet.


Residents stated that Abdul Khaliq Afghani Football Ground cannot be used for the market. Eid prayers have been offered on the ground for the past 25 years. If a market is established there, thousands of worshippers will face difficulties. The locals expressed concerns that the wrong decisions of the authorities could jeopardize the peace and security situation in the area. The Supreme Court has ruled that no commercial activities can take place on sports grounds. The court has directed the MC Director to explain providing space for the cattle market.
