Tragic Overspeeding Accident in Karachi Claims Seven Lives

A devastating road accident occurred near Mauripur Truck Adda in Karachi on Sunday, resulting in seven fatalities and injuries to 30 others. An “overspeeding” bus crashed into a trailer truck, causing the bus to overturn.

Rescue officials reported that among the deceased were three children, a teenager, and three women. Six to seven individuals sustained critical injuries. The victims were on their way to a picnic when the bus lost control due to high speed and collided with the truck.

The injured and deceased were transported to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment and legal procedures. The bodies were subsequently moved to the Sohrab Goth mortuary, according to hospital authorities.

The identified victims include Sughra (40), Saadia (45), an unidentified woman around 40 years old, Sakina (6), Zeenat (4), Kinza (10), and Abdul Qadeer (14). All the victims were residents of Azizabad’s Bhangoria Goth area and were from the same family.

Law enforcement officials have seized both the trailer and the bus involved in the accident. They are actively searching for the trailer’s driver, who fled the scene.

Higher authorities have demanded a report from the Karachi commissioner and police regarding the incident.

Mohammad Bashir, a relative of the victims, stated that 40 to 45 people were traveling on the ill-fated bus for a picnic. He urged Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to ensure the critically injured receive treatment at a private hospital. Bashir also called for an investigation to hold the responsible party accountable.
