Revised Withholding Tax for Suzuki Alto
Previously, a fixed withholding tax (WHT) of Rs10,000 for filers and Rs30,000 for non-filers was applied per unit. The new fiscal policy for 2024-25 changes the WHT calculation to be based on the vehicle’s invoice price rather than engine size.
Effective from July 1, vehicles with an engine capacity of up to 850cc will incur a WHT of 0.5% of the car’s value for filers and 1.5% for non-filers.
